In the spirit of Benedictine hospitality and through affiliation with The Quiet Garden Trust of Great Britain, we offer our gardens as a calm and peaceful place to rest and renew one's spirit.
The Gospels remind us that Jesus invited his disciples to "come away with me to a quiet place and get some rest" (Mark 6:31). In this same manner, guests of the Priory are invited to pause and take time apart for spiritual refreshment.
The Priory Chapel and gardens are available on selected days for periods of quiet contemplation and retreat. Areas for private prayer include a small secluded redwood grove, a walled Bishop's Garden shaded by ancient California oaks, and an enclosed brick patio which surrounds the Priory fountain.
In partnership with The Quiet Garden Trust, we are committed to weaving the creative, caring and contemplative threads of the Christian Gospel into the fabric of everyday life, offering a ministry of welcome, hospitality and spiritual companionship for those who visit.
The gardens are a place of silence and prayer. We are happy to welcome all who come, regardless of religious affiliation. Our desire is to provide a peaceful place in which guests are enabled to deepen their walk with God and enrich their lives; in other words, to "restore the sacred."
....and you will find rest for your soul
